OUR STORY

Since I can remember, I have been obsessed with dogs. As a toddler, my favorite movie was 101 Dalmatians, my go-to bedtime story was Dr. Seuss's, Go, Dog, Go, and I begged my parents, incessantly, for a puppy. Growing up with dogs, I found myself treating them like they were part of the family. A phrase that frequently gets thrown my way is "it's just a dog", but really, I think it's much more than that. I didn't realize how much I disagreed with that "it's just a dog" statement until I got a dog of my own.

Oliver was an amazing bi-product of my incessant begging and (not so subtle) hint-dropping to my boyfriend and family. The minute I saw his cute little face, I knew he was my dog and the instant he arrived, I was madly in love. That's where it all began. I spent hours sifting through various small businesses on instagram that were selling trendy and modern bandanas, leashes, poop bags, collars, harnesses, toys - you name it. At this point I've most likely spent a few hundred dollars solely on said products (no regrets here - he deserves it!), but found myself searching for different fabric patterns, coming up with different product ideas, and constantly thinking that I could buy my own fabric and learn how to sew, so I could make things for both him and me. I finally took the leap. I made my way to the grocery store at the bottom of my hill, bought a tiny sewing kit for $5, picked up some free fabric off of Facebook Marketplace, and taught myself. And here we are - The `Dana Doods.
